Dr. Philip A. Roth
Dr. Roth has been extremely good to me and my family. He provides excellent health care. My ex-wife didn’t have a primary care physician. She contracted a virus and started suffering from extreme headaches, sensitivity to light, and vomiting. I took her to the Emergency Department and they sent her home with pain medication. For two days she laid in bed taking the pain meds and vomiting into a bucket. She was getting very sick. Out of desperation, I called Dr. Roth and he offered to see her (she was not a patient of his, so he was doing this for me) on the weekend, in the Emergency Department, during the biggest Alabama football game of the year. He diagnosed her with meningitis and got her on IV antivirals. He stopped by to see her twice a day while she was hospitalized. Dr. Roth probably saved her life. My step-daughter is prone to depression. She made some poor life choices and stopped taking antidepressants because she couldn’t afford them. She became severely depressed and I was concerned she might be suicidal. I moved her home with me and she wasn’t getting any better. I shared my concerns for her with Dr. Roth during my annual physical. He offered to see her. He got her back on anti-depression medication and she slowly but surely flourished. Years later she’s given my wife and I two grand babies that we adore. She wasn’t his patient, so he saw her as a favor to me. Dr. Roth may have saved her life as well. I love Dr. Roth. I’ve known him since high school. If he asked me to change the oil in his car, I’d be there. I don’t know what I’m going to do when he decides to retire.
