Dr. Michelle Bauer Saved my Life
I had a skin tag on my arm that I wanted removed only because it was unpleasant to look at. I made an appointment with my Doctor, Michelle Bauer to have it removed. I have been a patient of hers for quite a while and have my utmost confidence in her. When I was in her office I just happened to cough once. Dr. Bauer misses nothing and asked me about the cough. Since I worked in an office with other people, sneezing and coughing were part of office rituals because someone always had a cough or a cold and I didn’t think anything about it. Covid was around (and still is) but I was not sick and didn’t think anything of a slight cough here and there. Dr. Bauer, being the great doctor she is, was not taking it lightly at all and was not going to take the chance of me having Covid. She insisted that I was going to have to go for a chest X-ray. Quite frankly I thought it was a waste of time and didn’t want to go but Dr. Bauer informed me that I didn’t have a choice and that I was going to have to go! I reluctantly went only because I knew she wasn’t going to let me get out of it. To my horror and surprise Dr. Bauer called me at home the next morning which happened to be a Saturday and informed me that the Radiologist saw a spot on my right lung and that she was referring me to Dr. Ogaily, Oncologist immediately. I met with Dr. Ogaihy and was referred to many doctors for many tests. In the end I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer and had absolutely no symptoms whatsoever. Even my blood tests kept coming back okay but Dr. Ogaily kept telling me if it smells like a skunk, it’s a skunk. I’ve had so many things since then including lung surgery, Chemotherapy, Radiation and Immunotherapy. (Not to mention a million prayers as well.). It has now been 2-1/2 years since this nightmare started and I was just informed by my Oncologist that I am in remission. The happiest day of my life. If it wasn’t for Dr. Bauer I would have been dead by now. I am so grateful that she is so exact, determined, knowledgeable and kind that I will be forever grateful to her. My Oncologist informed me that Dr. Bauer saved my life! I would love her to be recognized for the great Doctor that she is. Not only is she a great Doctor but she is always kind and understanding too. I have many friends and colleagues who love her as a Doctor as well! Please know that I wouldn’t be sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee and making plans with my family and friends if it wasn’t for her and I will be eternally grateful!! Thank you for taking the time to read this!
