Dr. Loomis and Diabetes

I have had diabetes for about 35 years and was first treated by my primary care physician in South Bend, Indiana. Then, at the suggestion of a doctor during an executive physical at Mayo Clinic, I began seeing an Endocrinologist. During this time with both of these doctors, I naturally learned a little about the disease, carb counting, general diet, etc. But I really didn't put what little knowledge I learned to very good use.

Following a move to a new town, I eventually became a patient of MDVIP Dr. Thomas Loomis. Literally in my first 15 minutes with him during my first visit, I learned more about diabetes and how to control it than I had in the previous 30 years. I learned later that part of the reason was that his teenage daughter was a type 1 diabetic!

As a result, I have gone from A1C levels above 10 to around 7 and now use an insulin pump. I suspect that in my next visit, i may be under 7. This is all due to being seen by Dr. Loomis! With the MDVIP format, I appreciate the amount of time he spends consulting with me and the thoroughness of my treatment. Plus, he has assembled a staff that is second to none. Thank you to all!
