Dr. Lawson is a new doctor to me, but I have confidence in him.

I have multiple doctors and physical needs. Dr. Lawson was the choice that my previous primary care made to replace himself as he retired. Meeting and having confidence in a "new to me" doctor was a "we'll just have to wait and see" situation. Dr. Lawson had read the information in my files, listened, and asked questions at our first meeting, which was also my annual physical. Shortly after, I needed to have medication adjusted. Dr. Lawson returned my call, answered my questions..everything feels comfortable. Drop the "new." He's my doc now.
