Oh my! Three days before my grand Daughters graduation from High school, I broke my neck.!!! I cannot go any place I thought! A stupid accident . I knew I should not have been walking on that Hawaiian, bouncy grass but I did! I fell! My bad ankle just gave away! After all, I was 87 years old at the time! I was devastated to miss that important grand daughters graduation! Dr De Board, listens carefully. He understands families and interactions and is very particular to make sure about his directions of care! He answers questions and provides caring consults. However, I was devastated. So painful. So, thinking only lying down could ease the pain but how important this night was to us all! However, he set the guidelines that I thought I could follow and did exactly that, to the letter! He was correct. A time of memories for us on that wonderful Hawaiian evening So my daughter spent time with her daughter and with me, her husband drove carefully and found a back comfortable seat for me to sit, a little away from others so I could cry a bit, walk around if needed or just sit straight up in my chair without disturbing anyone. Dr De Board, gave me the confidence to attend my grand daughter’s graduation on the slopes of Diamond Head in Honolulu. He did not know that, it was not in his Work Hours so he did not even see how happy us 3 generations of strong women can be ! He teaches us all to care for ourselves and others. He is a great Mentor even when he is not meaning to be. How special that is! Thank you Dr De Board for all your caring over the years. Your incredible medical knowledge, sense of humor and always listening, laughing and caring. Your patients live and respect you and you make a difference in all our lives.
