Dr. Jennifer Claves -- a physician with an incredible heart and empathy

Last March I was told I had breast cancer. I absolutely fell apart since my mother and my sister died of breast cancer.
I contacted Dr. Claves in absolute terror because I did not know what else to do. I had recently had a friend with the same stage of cancer as me just undergo a mastectomy. Dr. Claves called me back immediately and took the time to talk me off the ledge. She explained how each woman's breast cancer is different even though it might be the same stage. She explained to me about how tumor cells are closely looked at in the lab to find out what grade it is and how specific proteins found and the tumor grade helps decide the stage of the cancer and the treatment options. I have never had a doctor have so much kindness and empathy and spend time with a patient until they understand what exactly they are facing (and it is not as bad as you sometimes think it is). Dr. Claves makes me feel like my health and well being are important to her and the rest of the world can wait while she deals with me -- and that means so much! Dr. Claves is the best!!!!!!!
