Dr Janet Robertson whom saved my life when so many where afraid to risk theirs on 9/11 from Ground Zero horror. Documented fact not a story.
I was a Police Lieutenant for the Port Authority of NY & NJ as Tour Commander in charge of everything at the Lincoln Tunnel. Worked 11pm to 7am there for 9/11/01; came home to Basking Ridge NJ after working that morning & then at 8:50am received a call from our Police Captain informing me Trade Center had been hit (first plane) and he ordered me back into work. Drove directly to Lincoln tunnel and got into uniform—- 2nd Bldg., was now hit & everything was burning. My self & 5 other PAPD cops drove directly to what became known as Ground Zero. It was beyond horror- myself & others went in & out of every standing structure (all 7 Bldgs) before they collapsed- we carried out whom we could. Only myself and one other re-coordinated together & we were sent to evacuate what was left of Lower Manhattan from the 33rd St. PATH Station. Again, it was a disaster of feeling sick & injured survivors. Rocco my driver was ordered to continue evacuation elsewhere which he did & I took over PATH. 5 other brave PATH cops helped together & we by turnstile count alone evacuated over 733,000 via PATH. Ordered back to Lincoln Tunnel & informed we were now officially under Martial Law, I worked 14 consecutive 24 days at the Lincoln in charge of the US Military in both NY & NJ. On that first 24 hour day off I was sick as a dog in every way & after being REFUSED medical treatment by so many emotionally disturbed & frightened people, I had nothing left in me except to lay down and
never get up. Everyone turned me away— until past my own town of Basking Ridge, I pulled over my police vehicle & saw sign in Bernardsville of Dr Janet Robertson MD on route 202. Pulled my vehicle over, knocked & opened her office door & went in. She immediately evaluated & did all she could with meds, etc. Had to go back to work less then 24 hours later I was back at the Lincoln Tunnel Command under Martial Law. Eventually 100% disabled and 2 disabling Strokes later, thanks to Dr Robertson & her people, I’m still alive & lived to see my grand daughter. God Bless Dr Robertson & all whom really care.
Thank you.
