Dr. Hummel Rocks!

Dr. Matthew Hummel took me into his patient group shortly after I had been hospitalized with West Nile Virus. While hospitalized, I realized that no doctor knew anything about my health. Dr. Hummel's first comment was "Oh good, you will be my first West Nile patient and I would like to work with you and learn more." I instantly felt like I had found a doctor who cared about my health and future well-being.
Dr. Hummel gets to know his patients on a medical and personal level. He treats me with respect and takes time to listen and answer my questions thoroughly. Even though he gives medically sound advice, he also understands that I have to make decisions I am comfortable with. He has referred me to excellent specialists and he incorporates their information into my health care plan.
I feel confident that Dr. Hummel stays up to date with medical issues and he is willing to incorporate new treatments.
Dr. Hummel has created a culture of respect and caring among his staff members. From the moment you enter the office, it feels like the focus is on you and you are not rushed through your appointment.
Once a year Dr. Hummel hosts a patient appreciation reception. As a patient, I feel like this creates community and a personal connection. Patients are also invited to hear speakers on current health care trends.
I am truly fortunate to have such an amazing doctor.
