Dr. Gabriela Bowers is an excellent, highly knowledgeable doctor

Dr. Gabriela Bowers is an excellent, highly knowledgeable doctor, who knows how to partner well with patients like me...not always compliant. She is the sole reason I elected to participate in the MDVIP experience.

For the past four years, I have been the caregiver to my amazing husband of 39 years of marriage, who was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer and was not expected to live longer than 3-6 months. He courageously battled this disease for four years and never gave up.

Dr. Bowers often advised me that it was important to take caregood of me first so that I could handily take care of my loved ones and enjoy a productive life. She put me on a path of getting healthy and stayed on me to maintain it. I lost a considerable amount of weight early in the process, felt wonderful and was determined to cut down on the blood pressure and cholesterol medications in the long run. Unfortunately, over the past year and a half as my husband's health continually deteriorated, I wore a face of strength on the outside, but was a basket case inside and stopped taking good care of myself. I was so determined to save my husband's life...or at least slow down the cancer through our efforts to find a successful clinical trial. We came close twice! Sadly, my husband passed away on September 29, 2018 and losing him has rocked my world.

I am scheduled for my mid/annual exam in mid April and will work hard to get myself back in better health than where I am right now.
