Dr. Frey, you are the BEST!
I've been going to Dr. Frey for gosh, almost 30 years now (wow) and I have NEVER had a complaint about him. He's always been caring, knowledgeable, compassionate, and informed about anything pertaining to my healthcare. Around 10 years ago I began having female problems. Since he isn't an OB/GYN and I didn't have one (I hadn't needed one since I'd previously had no issues and he had done my yearly female exams), I went to an OB/GYN in a group I'd heard good things about. He did nothing but prescribe hormone manipulation therapy to try to stop the bleeding issues I was having. He did nothing to determine what was causing the actual problem. (My hematocrit level was low and quickly dropping. Dr. Frey, thankfully, was monitoring that because the other Dr wasn't.) It finally got to a critical level where I had to be hospitalized to receive blood. Even then, the OB/GYN did nothing except continue the same course of treatment, Dr Frey is the one that had me admitted. In the meantime, I had begun to also experience severe abdominal pain which we suspected was being made worse from the hormones-that weren't helping. I remember I contacted Dr Frey on a Sunday and asked if he could please refer me to another GYN he trusted because I felt like I was dying under this other Drs. "care". He quickly responded "yes" and told me to come see him the next morning. He checked my levels again and got me an appt. first thing Tuesday morning with another Dr. He did a sonar that determined I had numerous things going on that would require an immediate complete hysterectomy. All of the hormones had in fact made things never previously discovered, much worse. Had it not been for Dr. Frey keeping up with my condition, admitting me to the hospital to get blood, and then getting me in to see a Dr that had the proper concern to help me, I don't even like to think what might have happened.
Dr Frey has ALWAYS kept a careful watch of my overall health picture and made sure that we work together to keep me healthy. : ) He never rushes through our visits and he takes time to answer questions and thoroughly explain things. Plus, because he knows me so well, he even knows how I will likely respond to what he tells me. I honestly can't imagine having anyone else in his role. He is a very important person in my life and I feel blessed to have him looking out for me. He is not only a wonderful Dr, but also a genuinely good person. I jokingly told him recently that he can't retire while I'm still breathing because I never want another Dr, so I hope we both stick around awhile! As I stated in the title, he's the BEST. : )
