Dr. B, I hate to admint that you are right. But you always are
First time I went to Dr. B (Bottenberg) he told me to stop drinking as much water as I do. I have never heard a doctor say this. They always seem to be telling you to drink more water. He explained that when it was stated that we need 8 cups of water a day, people to not add all of the things that they drink that is not water. Because of this we end up drinking a lot of water and end up washing away needed minerals and vitamins. He said to add up in my head how much liquid I drink, coffee, juice, soup, when you stop and think about it is a lot. About 2 months after telling me this I was reading a story and it said the same thing. That was the first time I had ever had a doctor tell me something that was completely different than anything I have ever been told and then I found proof that he was correct.
The other thing I like about Dr. B, He calls me back, I can get in to see him the same day or the next. He spends time to talk to you and makes sure you understand what is going on and what he is doing and why he is doing it. My husband went in for his yearly check up. He had just found out his only nice had died the day before. He was very depressed. Dr. B sat and let my husband talk it out for 45 minutes. He was still down when we left but he was on the mend.
When I turned 65 and went onto Medicare I was told I needed to check in with the primary doctor they had assigned to me. I told them I would not stop using my own doctor. He had spoiled me for others. I hate when I have to go to a specialist they run in and out I am not ever sure if they hear what I am telling them. I called one to talk about a medication, she did not call me back for 5 days. No I will not give up Dr. B. if he tells me to call on the week end and I don't he gets upset with me, and tells me to call he does not care what day or time it is. Dr. B, you are the best.
