Dr. Adam Cohen has my back!

A while ago, my 50+ lb. dog was chasing our new puppy around the backyard while I stood watching in front of some bushes.. The pup ran behind me, in the narrow space. The dog thought he'd fit too. He didn't. Although I did not fall down, the blow to the outer side of my left leg resulted in at the shattering of the plateau of my tibia. After my husband helped me hop into the house, I called Dr. Cohen. He told us where to go to get X-rays. The X-rays did not show anything but the pain any moment I put weight on that leg was awful. My son-in-law the Radiologist was able to arrange for a CT scan the next day but only if Dr. Cohen faxed him a prescription. Dr. Cohen did that. Hours after the scan we had the diagnosis. I spoke to an Orthopedist who said it was crucial to stay off the leg. Dr. Cohen suggested we buy a transport chair (a lightweight wheelchair) for me to use to get around the house. We did that.

The story has a happy ending. By the end of six weeks, my leg was healed. The healing was made possible by that little transport chair keeping me off the leg and helping me get through those awful days. Simple but brilliant.
