A doctor that listens closely to his patient

I needed to change doctors, as my PCP was never available and I always saw a new PA. It seemed like they never read my chart or had any idea who I was or what health issues were prevalent.

My neighbor suggested I try Dr Patel. I was in terrible pain. Dr Patel listened, saw my swollen fingers, elbows, knees and ankles. My toes were purple. He suspected an auto-immune disease. He called a colleague and got an appointment for me. In the meantime, the rheumatologist gave Dr Patel a list of lab work to perform. I had Lupus. Dr. Patel listening to me and his excellent diagnostic skill is what led to my diagnosis.
Then, I found a lump in my breast. It turned out to be IDC, Stage 1 . He called me and gave me a list of three doctors numbers and told me which to call first. I saw that oncologist within 2 1/2 hours of the phone call. Dr. Patel hand-picked my oncologist, surgeon and radiation oncologist. All saw me within 2 days of the new of breast cancer. I am now 1 year in remission. Dr. Patel treats everyone with respect and in turn is very well respected. He is an excellent human first, and a fantastic doctor. He is thorough, he keeps me on track with annual specialist appointments and follows my care closely.
