A Doctor and a Dr. Friend

Dr. Jeffery Meyers became my doctor after the retirement of my previous physician. I have discovered that he is first and foremost a knowledgeable physician, an effective diagnostician, but also someone with reasonable expectations. He knows that despite his well reasoned advice there are times I will not take it because there is something I would rather do, like have that hot fudge sundae with my grandkids. He is OK with that as long as I weigh the consequences - pun intended. His office is filled with great staff. Sometimes it reminds me of the old TV program "Cheers". Everybody knows my name and they all seek to help me. Debbie especially is kind and helpful. Dr. Meyers has been available in difficult times. He was on vacation when I had a terrible pain in my right elbow/arm. his staff informed him of my difficulties and he contacted me in the emergency room to offer advice, support, and encouragement as he consulted with the attending physician. He has made excellent referrals that have enabled me to live a more productive life. He has called to wish me a happy birthday. I am pleased to call him my friend.
