Covid and Paxlovid

A year ago, on a Saturday, I called my friend and physician, Dr. John Burpeau, to tell him I had just texted positive for Covid. Did I need to do anything special as I just had a minimal sore throat. He answered his mobile phone immediately. He told me he was calling in a prescription for Paxlovid but only take if my symptoms worsened. (Of which they did!) On Sunday, I could barely swallow my throat hurt so badly. Sunday afternoon Dr. Burpeau again called to see how I was feeling and reassured me I should begin to feel better on Monday. On Monday, his medical assistant called to follow up on my symptoms. As he had reassured me, I did indeed feel like I was on the road to recovery!
