Clot in my left lower leg
I had been on a European Cruise in early July 2023, and when flying back to the United States I developed a blood clot in my lower left leg. Being a physician myself and taking a blood thinner for atrial fibrillation, I felt that I could manage this problem myself. About six days after returning home, my leg started turning red and getting tender. At this point, I started getting concerned and felt that my primary care doctor (Dr. Rob Turner) should look at it. It was a Saturday, late in the afternoon, when I made this decision. I called him at home, and without hesitation he agreed to see me in his office. There was no hassle or trying to hold off seeing me until the coming Monday. When we met in his office, he was very gracious and understanding, and after examining me agreed that there might be an infection and started me on antibiotics. Within 24 hours I saw great improvement and within a week things were pretty much back to normal. This experience indicated to me that Dr. Turner was truly a caring physician and was willing to take care of me even in off hours and when it was inconvenient. I will forever be grateful for his attention to my health in that situation, and became convinced that I was in "good hands" and was pleased to have him as my physician. I have full confidence in his skills, and look forward to a long relationship with him as my managing primary care doctor.
