Catching Up

I genuinely look forward to my annual physicals with Dr. Kaufman. Even if I am anxious about a development in my health or if it's been a rough year, the first 15 minutes of the visit are like an intimate chat over coffee. We usually talk about theatre -- I'm an actor, she's an avid theatre-goer -- and it's relaxing and affirming and eases us into a discussion of the test results. I appreciate it so much; a small thing that makes a huge difference in my comfort. I feel I can discuss absolutely anything in those visits and I never fail to leave them feeling better about myself and my care.
