Caring connection

This fall I was diagnosed with breast cancer-hearing the diagnosis with very little explanation was like getting hit in the side of the head with a brick. My thoughts were scattered everywhere, and I couldn’t come up with a plan to handle my diagnosis, which is very out of character for me. First I prayed, then I texted Dr. Valade, after office hours-he answered, immediately, and talked me through. Together, we came up with a plan, he explained what I should expect, answered all my questions, and promised me that he would be there for me whenever I needed an opinion, or even just reassurance that I was making the correct decisions.
Dr. Valade stood true to his promise. I tried to be respectful of his time, and not bother him too often, but every single time I needed him he was there with clear guidance, as well as empathy for my journey.
I always have had a great deal of respect for Dr. Valade, but before my diagnosis, I basically just needed routine care. My respect and trust in Dr. Valade has infinitely increased, and my gratitude for his help and reassurance when I couldn’t find my way, is beyond description. Thank you, sincerely, Dr. Valade—YOU ARE THE BEST!
