A call saved my life

It was early October, 2001, soon after that fateful day 9.11. I was due to fly to Brussels in the morning, and felt some discomfort as I prepared for bed.. the abdominal pain increased, and I called my doctor at home near 9pm... He explained the symptoms may be flu, but to keep him aware of it. By 11:30, the pain was intense.. He said to meet him in the hospital emergency room...when I arrived the pain was so severe I actually crawled into the hospital .. 2 hours later, I was being wheeled into the operating room for a perforated large intestine and had I taken the flight, I would not be alive today ...
