Beyond the Call of Duty
I have had the pleasure of working with Dr Aisenberg for many years and have always come away from meeting with her with more knowledge about my particular medical situation , and felt valued as a patient and listened to without judgement.
In November 2023 I was admitted to a hospital with a Small Bowel Obstruction. It was my 5th , since February of that year and the surgeon had finally decided to operate and remove what he thought were a lot of adhesions in my abdomen (at that time we weren't sure what was causing them). The day before surgery and after Dr. Aisenberg had done a lot of research on bowel obstructions, she learned that the diet drug I was taking might possibly have been causing the obstructions. She immediately called the surgeon and asked him not to do the surgery and explained why. The drug had been stopped a couple of weeks before and she felt like had been causing the problems. Fortunately , it saved my having to go through an exploratory surgery and I have once again been grateful for her medical knowledge and her willingness and her concern for me, to "go beyond the call of duty".
