Benefits of a long-term doctor/patient relationship

I have been with Dr. Gerald Kovar since 1980 and have benefited from our long-term relationship and his expertise with my medical history. Dr. Kovar has been through my history of kidney stones and on my third or fourth episode with a kidney stone, sometime in the late ‘80’s, I called him up and said I think I’m experiencing the symptoms of a kidney stone again. Dr. Kovar met me in the emergency room to confirm my situation and took care of me immediately without experiencing the pain associated with kidney stones. I still remain with Dr. Kovar after 44 years.
