Above and Beyond

In August, 2021 I took my son on an AMTRAK trip from Austin, Texas to Chicago to visit the Field Museum and see the dinosaurs. On the day before we returned, I took a bad fall on some road repairs while crossing a busy street, and got a split lip, black eye, bloody nose and a serious cut on my hand. I asked my wife to see if she could schedule a meeting with my MDVIP doctor, James Hahn, in Austin as soon as possible after my return. I sent the photo (attached) of my morose face. Dr. Hahn made an emergency appointment to see me the morning after I returned, even though he was on vacation. He checked me out, made sure I didn't have any dental damage or loose teeth, and otherwise prescribed minor meds and TLC. I did appreciate his willingness to take the time on very short notice to make sure I didn't have any serious or lasting damage (although my wife claims that the split lip has given me a permanent sneer).
