I have been a patient of Dr. Wendy Walker since she opened her practice in N. Michigan-likely a couple of decades ago. My children were part of her practice as well. Shortly after she accepted them into her practice as patients, my son was in a very bad car accident. I am so grateful to Wendy for her help with specialists during the 3 weeks he was hospitalized and her support with his care after he came home. She treated him for MRSA a few years later, even while he was in college. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer (DCIS) the first time, she was there providing direction for the lumpectomy and radiation. A couple years later she told me she was going to join MDVIP, when I was meeting with her in her office. She said I could sign up that day if I wanted. Without hesitation I did that-because I said if I were ever to get BC again, I would want her to lead me through the process again. Well, I did get BC a second time, which would mean more radiation, etc. She suggested that I consider as bilateral mastectomy so I wouldn't dread the every 6 month check for BC. I decided to do just that, and I don't regret it at all. Last year I had a bad "trip and fall" which caused a minor TBI, which put me in the hospital and a month of tests and followup. She met with me weekly to make sure I was progressing and healing; and she assured all the tests were scheduled as required. I have found the physicals and the results to be so detailed and helpful. I feel I have so much control over my health and my future, with her guidance. I feel very fortunate and thankful to have such an amazing doctor in my life. My older daughter is one of her patients now, and I am happy that she also has Wendy as her doctor. Thank you, Dr. Wendy Walker for the care you provide me and for your friendship.
