I first saw Dr. Mavis Matsumoto about 18 years ago. It was the first time I felt that a doctor heard me since moving to Nevada. She was kind, thoughtful and encouraging and set me on a path to better health. Fifteen years ago my now husband, moved to be with me. We were planning a trip to Washington state to pickup his car and drive the coast back to California and then home. He woke up one morning prior to our trip and said he wasn't feeling well. His blood pressure was high and his heart was off rhythm. Of course he had no physician since he had just arrived. He said he should probably go to the ER. I told him that I would like to contact my doctor. I called her office, described what was happening and without hesitation said, bring him in immediately. Once there, the team took over and within half an hour, he had an EKG., was diagnosed with AFIB and Dr. Matsumoto contacted a specialist. We went to the specialists office, a few more tests were done and in an hour we were headed to hospital to have him converted. The heart specialist gave him some medication and by the time the procedure was to take place he had self converted and was back to normal. This all happened within three hours. Dr. Matsumoto is always there for us, she hears us and she cares about her patients. Always kindness from her and her staff. We feel safe with her and know that with all that she is doing, she is always just a phone call away. We know we can reach out and she is there. No matter where we travel, she is there. Knowing that she cares about us and wants us to live healthy lives makes our time on this earth the best it can be. Dr. Matsumoto is home, safety and love. We feel so lucky to have her watching out for us. I have referred her to friends and they all feel the same about her. We are so grateful to be part of her family.
