Early in a physician’s career, a question is frequently asked by their family, peers, and friends, “What kind of doctor are you going to be?” A quote that has helped me nurture my abilities and become a family medicine physician is from Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
As a family medicine physician practicing in Arizona for the past eight years, the most rewarding aspect of my career has been the relationships I have developed with my patients and their families. The best relationships are developed when I cross my legs, stop looking at the computer and just talk with my patients. By doing this, I begin to realize I have so much in common with them, which helps in being able to relate to them and having them open up about what is going on in their lives.
This fundamental part of practicing is becoming lost in volume-based medicine, as time is necessary for patients and physicians. When a doctor has the time to really listen to their patients, it makes a huge difference in the care that is provided. As an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, I can further enhance building that camaraderie with my patients and take my clinical skills and personal growth to the next level, while simultaneously serving my patients in the way they deserve.
I will be affiliated with Honor Health Osborne and will be serving the Scottsdale, Phoenix, Paradise Valley and Arcadia areas.
