Gary H. Kato, MD

I cannot say enough about my primary care becoming an MD/VIP. I remember when I got a voicemail from him and asked to return his call. I thought he was retiring or going on from being a part time professor at the University of Washington to a full time professor. My heart sank. I was thrilled to find that he was becoming an MD/ViP! The proof is in the pudding! My health improved so significantly almost immediately and the last couple of years, it’s outstanding. Of course , Dr. Gary Kato always has goals for you and additional items he want’s you to do. Provided he takes my name off the records, he is welcome to share. I only eat fresh! I am dairy and gluten free. I do have Greek yogurt, doesn’t bother me at all. I’m a salmon and roasted chicken gal. I have always loved fruit and vegetables. I feel great! I’m rarely sick! I’m 71 years old and feel like I am in my forties. I love the fact I can call him or text him an update. The physical is the best thing since sliced bread. It caught an I’m eye problem, great referrals and my eyes are super healthy per my appointment last month. This last physical, there was a problem with my hearing. I am not quite finished with my treatment but I doubt I need a hearing aid. Catching problems early through that physical is the “Proof in the Pudding!” I’m so grateful for Dr. Gary Kato and this program. Carol B Schroeder

Thirty-one years ago, in 1993 at the age of 54, I was blessed to become a patient of Dr. Gary Kato. Over the years, I had previously gone to about half dozen other general practitioners. I planned to retire in about 6 years and wanted a doctor that would help me manage my health into my later years. My daughter had heard positive reviews about Dr. Kato and suggested I see him. Well, it was the best decision I have ever made. At each and every visit with Dr. Kato, he takes the time to check my current health problems, and any tests that were done, explain them to me, then asks if I have any questions or concerns. When done I always feel confident and re-assured that he's doing everything necessary to help me. He once told me that when he refers me or his other patients to see a specialist, that it is someone that he himself sees. There's absolutely no better referral than this! At my last MDVIP physical annual exam in December 2023, after going over all my tests and results with Dr. Kato, I said, " Gosh, Doctor Kato, with all that you are doing to take care of me I'll probably live until I'm over 100. I'm now 85. He smiled and said, "that's what we're hoping for".
