I have been passionate about helping people for as long as I can remember. I decided to become a family doctor when I was seven years old. I became an osteopathic physician because the philosophy of osteopathic medicine is to help treat the whole patient, not just their symptoms. I wanted to be a family physician to spend more time with patients and their families to review treatments, answer questions and work together to help them to understand their treatment choices.
My wife and I settled in Charleston, South Carolina, more than 35 years ago, and most of my patients reside in the Charleston tri-county area. Our family and extended family live here.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge practices. My patients have my cell phone number to use for more urgent matters. I also offer the Wellness Program Plus, comprised of advanced screenings and tests.
I am dedicated to discussing what may be making a patient unwell and reviewing what may be underlying causes. This is why focusing on the whole patient is my passion. I do not hesitate to pick up the phone to speak with specialists and other providers on behalf of my patients.
Being affiliated with MDVIP allows me to spend more time with patients and get to know them on a deeper level. I offer same-day or next- day visits with minimal waiting, along with longer appointments. These types of services are typically outside the limits of what traditional primary care offices can offer.
I am affiliated with local hospitals, including Roper St. Francis Healthcare, MUSC, Trident Medical Center and the Mayo Clinic Care Network. I train students at the VCOM in Spartanburg, as well students with MUSC, USC, Charleston Southern University and others.
