As I am sure you will testify, you have consistently encouraged me to lose weight, and I consistently didn't take the most basic and simple steps until about 18 months ago. During the second half of 2023 (soon after my wife retired), we began eating home cooked meals. We reduced the size of our portions. Our home cooked meals were as equally tasty as anything we were eating in restaurants. I lost about 20 pounds during the second half 2023.
In early January, I decided to take ballroom dance lessons from the local Fred Astaire dance studio in my neighborhood. Within 3 months, I had lost another 25 pounds. My weight is now lower than at any time in the past 20 years. Dance lessons also helped improve my balance, strengthen the large muscles in my outer thighs and even significant reduced knee pain to the point where I hardly experience any knee pain.
There are other reasons I will continue to take dance lessons, but I will save these stories for another day and time.
