I was referred to Dr. Harkins by my previous gynecologist because Dr. Harkins was his physician! So Dr. Harkins was a qualified referral from someone I already trusted and respected, especially since my gynocologist saw me through some tough times with cancer.
I was thrilled out of the gate with Dr. Harkins because he is smart, kind, responsive, knowlegeable, thorough, yet not an alarmist, and has a wonderful bedside manner. As someone with a lot of complicated and challenging health issues combined with chronic anxiety around all of it, I am so grateful that Dr. Harkins has never steered me wrong and has the patience required to work me through all of my challenges.
A few years into my relationship with him, as my new internist. I fell down a flight of stairs and as a result of that fall and two others subsequently in the next three years, I suffer from head trauma along with musclar, neuromuscular, and skeletal challenges which took me out for years on disability. He continues to support me through all of this and I am grateful that he has made the time to keep up with the yearly paperwork and exams that the insurance company require. I have been in P/T the better part of the last seven years and finally a few years ago was able to return to work part time. Dr. Harkins has continued to help me moderate my activity, for the sake of my health, while maximizing the skills I can perform to still manage to have some income and to keep a toe in my profession. I am forever grateful for his time and ongoing medical advice and really don't think I could have gotten through any of this without his professional care!!
I can't forget his office staff, Therese and Anne, who keep him and probably all of his patients going. They are kind, caring, helpful, and supportive and I am grateful for them as well!!
I have absolute faith in Dr. Harkins and am blessed that he is my Doctor!!
