MDVIP Ambassador Jennifer Bennett
Jennifer Bennett, who works for MDVIP affiliate Dr. John Calado in Rochester Hills, MI, is an MDVIP Ambassador for going above and beyond the call of duty and making her patients feel welcome, valued and loved.
"The two people who inspire me the most are my parents. They have a long- standing marriage that has withstood many storms. Not only have they been there for each other, but they have supported me through the best and worst of times. No matter what the scenario, or how many tears I have shed, I always came through with a smile on my face. Their unyielding devotion has given me the confidence to be an excellent student, employee and parent. My parents have a thirst for knowledge and instilled in me the value of lifelong learning and perseverance while always being true to myself. These lessons and their example has been the foundation for a moral compass that has served me well. I am forever grateful to them.” --Jennifer Bennett

This past weekend, we had an issue at the office that we were unable to solve remotely, Jen drove 30 min from her house to fix the issue, so our patients would not be inconvenienced. She solved the issue. Without her dedication to the practice we would come up short. She is truly a person who puts the practice first.

Jen started working with a local church group who makes prayer blankets. The office gives each patient hospitalized a prayer blanket to let them know they are thought of. Holidays she has worked with staff to make sure that each of our patients feels special, we have given flowers on Mother’s Day, candy on Father’s Day, suckers for younger kids who attend family appointments, and Christmas gifts.

This last month I watched her fight with an insurance company for a medication that I felt was in the best interest of my patient. She went through prior authorization process, 3 appeal letters and ultimately, she won the appeal and the patient is now covered on the medication. Above and beyond, taking 2 -3 months to get the best medication for our patients.

I have watched Jen develop such great relationships with our members she is able to get information out of them that may have otherwise been missed. She was able to stop a member from having dental work that was scheduled after he was diagnosed with a lung bacterial infection. The question was never asked if he had a dental procedure, so he assumed it was fine to proceed. She was listening to his story and was able to recognize it and contacted me and we were able to stop him from what could have been a devastating event.
