back
How many MDVIP affiliated patients are there?
MDVIP currently has more than 100,000 members nationally.
back
How does the MDVIP program work?
MDVIP affiliated practices are limited to no more than 600 patients in order to
provide highly personalized and comprehensive preventive care and wellness
services to all patients. These highly personalized services cannot be provided
in most traditional primary practices which typically have between 2,000 and
4,000 patients. A physician in a typical practice of 2,500 patients could not
give a comprehensive annual physical to all of his or her patients, as to do so
would require 2,500 hours, or one year to complete. A physician in a
traditional primary care setting would therefore be unable to deliver any care
to patients other than the physical examination. However, in a practice of no
more than 600 patients, MDVIP-affiliated physicians have the time to provide
extensive preventive care and wellness programs, as well as care for acute and
chronic illness. They are also able to provide a new focus on individualized
attention and lifestyle planning.
back
Is MDVIP a publicly traded company?
MDVIP is privately held.
back
What does the “VIP” in MDVIP represent?
The “VIP” stands for Value In Prevention.
back
What happens to patients who decide not to join MDVIP-affiliated
practices?
MDVIP-affiliated physicians are committed to providing continuity of care for
each and every patient who does not join the program. MDVIP will not work with
any physician who does not have a plan for continuity of care with other
physicians in his or her community. MDVIP works very closely with the physician
to provide continuity of care to all patients who choose not to join.
back
What is the demographic profile of your patient base?
MDVIP-affiliated physicians’ patients come from all walks of life, including
the busy professional and the retiree. Our patient base is continuously
evolving, but typically falls into five categories:
1. Long-standing patients, regardless of medical condition, who wish to enhance
their personal relationships with their physicians
2. New patients of all ages who have chronic illnesses and desire the enhanced,
highly personalized focus on prevention and early detection afforded by the
MDVIP-affiliated physician
3. Patients 50 and older who do not yet have chronic conditions, and wish to
emphasize prevention and early detection to remain as healthy as possible for
as long as possible
4. The busy professional who has limited time and therefore requires an
individually tailored approach to preventive care and the flexibility and
convenience provided by an MDVIP-affiliated practice
5. Patients who have always emphasized preventive health and seek a medical
advocate to support and oversee their preventive care efforts
back
How do insurance programs work with MDVIP-affiliated practices?
The fee for the program is separate from insurance, and is fully compatible
with PPO plans, POS plans, and Medicare, regardless of whether the doctor is in
or out-of- network. The annual fee covers preventive care services including a
comprehensive annual physical examination and personalized wellness plan. All
other medical care is handled through patients’ existing insurance plans.
back
What are your patient annual renewal rates?

back
What are some of the other patient benefits of an MDVIP-affiliated
practice?
In the smaller practice setting, physicians are able to build a more intimate
and interactive patient relationship with emphasis on prevention and early
detection. As a result of the smaller practice, MDVIP-affiliated physicians are
able to provide the following ancillary benefits:
• Physician availability, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Same or next day appointments that start on time
• Unhurried office visits based entirely on patient need; unlike traditional
office visits that typically last between 8 – 10 minutes
• Direct contact with physician via cell phone, pager and email
• Enhanced coordination of specialist care
• Enhanced coordination of emergency room visits and hospitalization to assist
patients in receiving appropriate services
• Prescription facilitation and home delivery, where available
• Insurance claims facilitation
• Travel medical services
• myMDVIP: the newest patient benefit featuring a personal patient webpage with
a secure online resource giving instant access to personal medical records,
health risk assessments and more, as well as a tool to communicate with the
physician.

What are the physician benefits of affiliating with MDVIP?
MDVIP assists physicians in establishing rewarding, balanced practices that
place as much emphasis on preventive care as they do in regard to the treatment
of illness. The MDVIP program allows physicians to maximize professional goals,
supports an enhanced personal lifestyle and ensures financial viability. As the
national leader in concierge medicine, MDVIP provides a proven,
well-established “turn-key” solution that delivers all of the technological,
operational, research, management support, administrative and legal services
required to successfully transition a primary care practice to the MDVIP
concierge medicine model, and subsequently support the growth of the practice.
Through its comprehensive infrastructure, MDVIP is able to eliminate many of
the obstacles found in healthcare today, allowing physicians to be free to run
their practices as they deem appropriate, and to do what they do best…take care
of their patients.
back
What are the backgrounds of your physicians?
Most MDVIP-affiliated physicians are board certified internists, certified by
the American Board of Internal Medicine, and typically have more than 15 years
of experience in their field. Some MDVIP-affiliated physicians have
