About William Saway, MD, FACP
Practicing good medicine includes a close partnership between doctor and patient. As your primary care physician, my goal is to provide personalized medical care that emphasizes prevention and wellness. My MDVIP-affiliated practice allows for more time to develop closer relationships with my patients. We are then able to work together to create a customized plan of care that better addresses important aspects of health, from the simplest concerns to more complex medical issues. And with 25 years of experience practicing in the Howard County community, I have created relationships with multiple specialists and institutions.
Internal medicine is my passion, and in addition to being your internist, I have interest and experience in diabetes, cardiovascular health, hypertension and preventive medicine. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.

Dr. Saway has saved me on several occasions, but two stand out. When I first met him years ago, he diagnosed me with hypertension. My previous doctor was treating me for migraine headaches. So grateful that he most likely saved my life.

On October 22,2023 my 102 year old father died. When Dr. Saway comes in he always say how glad he is to see me and how life is treating me before asking me about my physical condition. I have been in MDVIP since its inception in 2002. When my doctor retired, I looked for another doctor who was in MDVIP. The timing was good, because Dr. Saway was joining. I went to his meetings and met with him. I am very happy with his practice.

Dr. Saway has been fantastic as my primary care physician for the past several years, and I can't speak highly enough about him. He always takes the time to listen to my concerns and provides helpful recommendations/solutions (e.g., changes to diet, exercise, lifestyle, medications, etc.), which wasn't always true of my previous doctors (even with regard to some of whom are/were in the same practice). He's also very kind and personable, which is a nice bonus. He cares!
(EDIT: Similar to Mike Gargan's review, I feel the need to address the nonsense "scam" comments. A couple years ago, Dr. Saway made the decision to join MDVIP, which is a premium service that requires his patients to pay an annual fee. It provides care above & beyond the usual, like more extensive annual testing, 24-hour communication to his personal mobile phone, same-day or next-day appointments, longer office appointment windows, fewer other patients under his care so that he can spend more time focusing on you, etc. In short, it resembles what healthcare *should* be in this country (i.e., HEALTHcare instead of SICKcare). Unfortunately, this service is not optional, but if I did not want to pay for the MDVIP service, they can recommend other non-MDVIP doctors, even within the same practice. I decided to try MDVIP for one year to evaluate it, and the result is that I'm impressed and on my second annual renewal. For me, it's very worth it, but individuals can make that determination for themselves. Bottom line: "scam" is the last word that I would use to associate with Dr. Saway. This office is very up-front about the MDVIP requirement and its cost, so by definition, this is not a scam, and anyone calling it one is being disingenuous and/or intellectually dishonest.)

Dr. Saway has been our doctor for over twenty years. He just said to my husband the other day if I need to see you everyday to keep you well then that is what I will do. Dr. Saway is a committed professional with a welcoming, caring personality. He is knowledgeable, experienced and knows many of the specialists in the area to assist you as he helps in your care. He goes out of his way with his patients with texts, phone calls and visits giving expert advice and support. His office staff is also very professional and more than willing to assist. Dr. William Saway had been my Family Doctor for over 11 years. He is very prompt and affective. Whenever I need to have medical care, he's just a phone call away 24/7. I can have an appointment on the same day. My husband is also a patient of Dr. William Saway for over 8 years and he very happy with his care.

Doctor Saway had been my Family Doctor for over 20 years. He and his staffs are very prompt and affective. Whenever I need to have medical care, he's just a phone call away 24/7. I can have appointment on the same day or the next day. The best decision I've made was to join the MDVIP practice with Dr. Saway. Even with the yearly membership fee, I feel that it worth every pennies that spent. Here I have in a second response directly from Dr. Saway, either by phone, by FaceTime, Zoom or in person, whichever convenient for me. No wasting time at the waiting room.
Dr Saway is very personable and keeping up with my medical history. He knows and understand my medical condition and history. I remember the beginning of Covid-19, my daughter, she was only 26 years old, she flew from Los Angeles to Connecticut to do TV Shows, she's a Production Manager at the time, at the end, they had the wrapped party for casts and crews, the next day, she was gravely ill and came down with Covid-19. At that time, it was the beginning of February 2020, Covid-19 still considered new for us in the U.S. She ended up being locked down in her hotel room. Not knowing or understanding about the pandemic at that time, she was sick with all of the symptoms. Headache, fever, body pain, diarrhea, vomiting, gravely ill. Dr Saway was in hand to FaceTime her to monitor her condition constantly for 2 solid weeks before she's getting better and able to leave the hotel in Connecticut and drove to our beach house in Bethany to try to recuperate and being monitored by Dr. Saway everyday for the whole month. Dr Saway is very devoted to his patients. My family had been benefit from his knowledge and devotion. He had been there me and for my entire family whenever we need for over 20 years, hope he'll be yours too some day.

This Dr became a scam. His company calling and sending me letters 100 times to enroll to his some kind of private insurance. They keep calling and sending letters even though I told them multiple times that I am not interested. I wish I never visited him. Thanks.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
