My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
I have always enjoyed teaching and do it on a daily basis with each patient. I am on the teaching faculty for the primary care clinical rotations at UNC Chapel Hill and East Carolina University Medical Schools, as well as Wingate University’s Physician Assistant program. My office is 3 miles from the home I grew up in. I was a Scoutmaster at Weddington United Methodist Church Troop 99 for 17 years and had the honor of helping to train nearly 100 Eagle Scouts. I remain an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte, North Carolina and have been singing in one of their choirs for over 50 years.
I love the practice of medicine and was called by God to use the gifts he has given me to be a healer to my fellow man. It is an honor to care for others and a trust that I cherish. I am human and have my faults and limits, but my patients know that each time they see me I have given them my very best.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Sensenbrenner
Dr. Sensenbrenner has always made me comfortable and never has rushed me when I had an issue or question. He sits right there and listens and chats until we get to the point. Then he helps me find the answers to my concerns. He is a very good listener as some doctors I’ve had have been too busy.
I was finally going on my dream trip of England, Ireland and Scotland. I had been taking care of myself because this trip had been cancelled due to Covid. I had been waiting 25 years to go to England. I woke up in the morning a day before my departure and felt the exact symptoms of a sinus infection. I’ve had many in the past and knew this was another one coming on fast. I sent Dr. John… See more
Dr. Sensenbrenner is the most caring, kind, personable person you would ever want to meet. His bedside manner presents a comfort level beyond care. His diagnostic skill level is amazing. He takes as much time needed with each patient to make them feel like they are his only patient. He asked questions, the patient asked questions. His patience is amazing with old and young. In 2003, when… See more

I've been with Dr. Sensenbrenner for many years. He has always been very attentive to any concerns that I or my husband may have. He gives us all the time we need to discuss our medical situations. Even before he went the concierge route he gave us all the time we needed. When my husband was battling cancer, Dr. Sensenbrenner was my husband's "guy" to go to for further… See more
Dr. John Sensenbrenner has been my primary care physician for 13+ years, and my MDVIP doc since he began with the organization. He has treated me for anxiety, depression, multiple sinus and strep episodes, and been compassionate and understanding during my years with IBD, a total colectomy, and stage 4 appendix cancer. His availability and response time to medical questions is extraordinary.… See more
The worst 2 medical things that have happened to me in my 74 years are getting breast cancer and having a blood clot in my calf. In the first case, Dr. John Sensenbrenner told me "if you have to have breast cancer, this is the one you'd want to have." That calmed me down and as a result, I had a surgery and 16 days of radiation and that was it. It was not a bad experience and I'm grateful for… See more
John has been my doctor for 40 years. I'm a physician and I know a good one when I see him. John is a good one.
I knew John before he became my doctor, we both worked for several years with a Boy Scout Troop. So, I have many memories of John in various settings including the most recent of him as my doctor. From all these memories I would describe John as caring, knowledgeable and wise. I am sure there are other adjectives that would fit, in a positive way, but these are the ones that come to my… See more
